Student Agreement
Policies and Procedures
(version 2025.05.28)
Welcome! We are excited to have you join one of our English Training Programs at Sesame Seed Learning. To ensure the best experience for everyone, please carefully review the following policies, procedures, and terms and only select the 'Agreement' box to proceed with Registration if you agree to all of them:
1. Class Participation
Active participation is essential. Students are expected to engage in speaking activities, discussions, and practice sessions during each class.
Microphones should be turned on during speaking activities. Cameras should generally be turned on, though at times if needed, they may be turned off.
Class registration is for you alone, a single student learner. If group registration for multiple students from a single location is desired, please reach out to us at: contact@sesameseedlearning.com
2. Attendance and Punctuality
Students who attend 80% or more of the classes for a course will receive a Certificate of Completion. It is expected that students will be punctual for courses, though it is understood that occasional circumstances may arise that cause delay - please come even if you are late, but do strive to be on time (plus, the beginning of each class will often feature a "Cultural Highlight" you won't want to miss!)
3. Classroom Conduct
Respect for all classmates and the instructor is mandatory. We value a supportive and encouraging environment.
Interruptions, inappropriate language, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
Classes will be open to both male and female students and to students from many countries, without segregation.
4. Technical Requirements
Students must have a stable internet connection, a working microphone, a camera, and must have downloaded and use the Zoom software or app to reduce lag times as opposed to connecting to Zoom via a web browser.
It is the student's responsibility to test equipment before class sessions begin.
Zoom provides requirements and suggested requirements. These include having an internet connection with at least 3.8Mbps upload speed and 3.0 Mbps download speed for a group call as we will be having. Downloading and using the 64-bit version (on a 64-bit computer/device) of Zoom is highly recommended as is quitting all other applications during its use. These recommendations and requirements are necessary to reduce overall lag time which will be present to some extent regardless. For additional details, please see: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0058323
5. Language Use
English will be the primary language of communication during the class.
Mistakes are a natural part of learning! Students are encouraged to speak freely and practice without fear of judgment.
6. Confidentiality and Privacy
Class sessions may not be recorded by any student, and students must not allow others to make recordings of class sessions. You should be in a quiet and relatively isolated environment while participating in any class.
Students agree not to share other students' personal information outside the classroom environment.
7. Supplemental Materials and Assignments
Any supplemental learning materials made available via download or otherwise are for your personal benefit and educational use only. These downloadable materials will be free and supplemental to the live, interactive classes, and are available only to registered students who agree not to download these materials unless they have attended the live, interactive course. They may not be emailed, shared, broadcast, redistributed, or transferred to anyone else for free or for charge without written permission of the Instructor.
Students will be provided outside learning assignments. Completion of such homework or practice activities assigned between sessions, while not required, are meant to support your progress. You are encouraged to complete all of these assignments.
8. Certificate of Completion
Students who attend 80% or more of the classes for a course will receive a Certificate of Completion. Non-participation in a given class is determined by the Instructor and will not count towards class attendance. These certificates are not accredited and no transferable credit to any other institution of learning is given or implied.
9. Age Requirement
Most classes are meant for adults, i.e., you must be at least 18 years of age or older including at least the age of an adult as deemed by your country of residence. Separate sections for students of ages 13 to 17 years are designated as Youth classes. At this time, children under age 13 are not permitted to be enrolled in any course. If you are interested in classes for younger students, please reach out to us at: contact@sesameseedlearning.com
10. Personal Responsibility for Safety
You are responsible for your own safety as it pertains to other members of the class. You agree to assume full responsibility for your own actions during and after the class. We do not encourage the sharing of personal contact information with other class participants. Adult classes will involve break-out sessions of students in smaller groups with each other. We will not be monitoring these sessions. It is your sole responsibility to ensure you are comfortable with the conduct of other participants. If you ever feel uncomfortable in any way during one of the class sessions, exit the class immediately by closing your browser and/or Zoom connection and report the situation by emailing: safety@sesameseedlearning.com
11. Payments, Refunds, and Cancellation Policy
Payment is required as part of registration. All fees for courses and/or classes are non-refundable, and unless otherwise specified in writing, no refunds will be given after the course begins. This policy encourages students to continue with a course to its completion. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event that a class is canceled by Sesame Seed Learning, LLC due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will be offered the choice of a full refund or the option to attend a rescheduled class. Participants may request a cancellation and refund within 48 hours of registration, provided the request is made no less than 72 hours before the scheduled class start time.
Students are responsible for any local taxes, fees, and financial charges associated with international payments.
12. Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions
You must read and agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions which are considered part of this Student Agreement.
